Cooking Up Big Style: Columiba MD Kitchen Update
Moving into her new Columbia, MD home, Beatrice was excited. However, the kitchen needed updating. Her new home was previously under foreclosure and originally designed without a kitchen. The selling bank installed all builder-grade materials, which were undesirable for Beatrice’s modern style.
FINDING THE PERFECT FIT
With a contemporary design in mind for her Columbia, MD kitchen update, Beatrice set out to find the right contractor for her project. Using HomeAdvisor, she narrowed her search down to two different companies.
After talking to Moses, the owner of the family-run Merrell Building, Beatrice felt that her best interest was their number one priority. She knew she had found her ideal contractor.
UNBELIEVABLY INVITING
When arriving at Beatrice’s home, Merrell Building found one major logistical problem. Although the existing island was fitted with a dummy plug, no power was actually connected to it. In order to create a functioning island, the team had to run power from the main electrical box to the new island. Fortunately, they were able to overcome this obstacle in a timely fashion and complete the project on schedule.

The Merrell Building team installed not only a brand new island to create the perfect space and flow in Beatrice’s kitchen but also stylish, modern lighting and cabinetry. Beatrice loves the end result. She now looks forward to entertaining in her fabulous new kitchen, which has the exact contemporary look she envisioned.
